Does this checklist look familiar? If you are a worship leader it’s probably very similar. You’d think once these tasks are all accomplished that you’re good to go for a service but there is something very important missing here .
Something vertical.
Prayer, intimacy, connection with God, dependence
Whatever you want to call it, we need to connect with God before we lead.
If we all know this, why do we only allot a mere 30 second prayer before service to connect with God? The best worship leaders lead out of the overflow and reality of their private life in God.
Their worship is anointed because their desire for the Presence of God is contagious and draws you in. You can’t just muster that up in 30 seconds.
What gets scheduled gets done
Schedule time in God’s Word and worship throughout your week.
If you want your worship to be more authentic and real, it’s not in choosing better songs but becoming a more consistent worshiper throughout your week.
Instead of complaining, worship. Instead of gossiping, worship. Instead of [fill in the blank], spend time worshiping God. Stir up the flame and make your life a relentless pursuit of God’s Presence. There’s nothing like it.
Question: How do you become a more consistent worshiper every day? You can leave a comment by clicking here.
