It seems that being comfortable is not a priority on God’s list of character qualities. What happens to the follower of Christ when he/she is comfortable?
Apathy. Lack of faith. Less urgency in prayer. Little concern for the lost.
It is my belief that God intentionally uses trials to keep us trusting in Him, running hard after Him, desperate for Him.
Without our world being shaken at times, we would simply relax and enjoy the pleasure that prosperity brings. Though we should never ask God for pain and suffering, it is going to happen and we best know how to respond when it does.
Thank God for your difficulties today, though it seems like a costly offering. It just may be His gift to you.

David… Kate said what I was going to say. Although it might not be the greatest thought to know that maybe God brings things into our lives to bring us closer to him (hardships ect.) but the fact that He is caring over rides all of the hardships.
This is an epidemic I believe in the spiritual world today. There is a whole generation that does not realize that God is always working on our behalf. Whether it is giving is the BMW or cancer, He is always bringing us closer to Him.
Does this make sense, do you agree?

Not sure what your last sentence about the BMW is saying. Can you clarify?
Benjamin Davis says
Oh I meant to say He (God) is always working on our behalf whether it’s giving us a BMW or letting us be sick, He is always trying to bring us closer to Him.
santahara says
I agree. I just think it can be tough for a BMW to bring us closer to God. It kind of makes you love material possessions more. Not that it can’t, it’s just more difficult. Being materially blessed on earth should not be our highest goal. Knowing and loving Jesus should be. Make sense?
