There’s something you’ve been thinking about doing that you haven’t done yet.
You’ve been procrastinating.
We’ve heard the excuses – you’re too busy, you’re too uninformed, you’re not skilled enough yet, you need to gather more facts.
I’m not buying it.
It’s time to do it.
This week, actually. I’m looking for an army of creatives to create this week. To post that blog, write that song, record that song, draw that picture, paint that canvas, give that speech.
I’m really happy that you read my blog. I wouldn’t have it any other way; however, if all this blog does is make you a passive observer, I haven’t done my job.
You need to stretch your own creative muscle.
Offer the world what is only yours to give.
Reflect the beauty of your Creator.
The Challenge
So let’s create some accountability. If you’re up for the challenge, leave a comment saying what you will create this week.
And if possible, come back and share it with us. Give us a link to your blog or simply tell us you did or didn’t do it.
Don’t just do what is easy. Stop resisting the work. If what you need to do will take longer than a week, break it down into a measurable goal for this week.
The Giveaway
I gave away 5 Kindle copies of Francis Shaeffer’s “Art and the Bible“
The Winners:
- Darrell Vesterfelt
- Jeff Goins
- Peter Bess
- Heidi Angell
- Rob Rash
If you didn’t win, consider purchasing the book. It’s worth it.
It’s time for us to speak now. Rise up. Release the brilliance God has placed inside of you.
We are waiting to experience it.
Question: What are you creating this week? You can leave a comment by clicking here.
Darrell says
I will create an article for submission on a blog other then my own.
David Santistevan says
Awesome. I just posted on this sweet blog by a guy named Darrell. Great stuff 🙂 Any idea what blog you want to post on? Or is that top secret?
Darrell says
To be honest, I don’t know.
Believe it or not, I have never done a guest post before.
Darrell says
FINISHED!!
David Santistevan says
Congrats, my friend. Where are you submitting the guest post?
Darrell says
I am sending it to the guy today — I will let you know if it gets accepted
David Santistevan says
Love the secrecy in sending it to “the guy” 🙂 You can do this!
David Santistevan says
I want to finish and submit a substantial guest post and finish a particular song I’ve been resisting 🙂
Jason Fountain says
I will do two things (blog-related): I will write a guest post and find a home for it; and, I will interview a leader via Skype and post it on my blog.
Writing these two things makes my palms sweaty! Thanks for the challenge.
David Santistevan says
You can do it, bro! That’s a great stretch goal. Make sure to come back and post the links here!
Arny says
This is Tough…..I want to finaly finish the Song List for our Album…I’m torn between which songs to pick…as of now We have like 15 songs….But I want to get to 13 or 14 only….But I keep swithing up songs…I keep taking some out, and puting some in…then regret it and vice versa….

David Santistevan says
So you’re going to narrow down the tracklist this week or finish the album?
Jaime says
I have a song that I’ve been working on for a while. I’d like to finish it. I need help, though.
David Santistevan says
Songwriting rockstar!
Julianna says
I will create a canvas for my love 146 initiatives and tune up my blog e-course.
David Santistevan says
Sounds amazing. You do a great job, Julianna. Love your blog.
Georgia says
I’ve been thinking for a long while, about creating a blog. I love to write, and often feel God gives me inspiration to do so. It’s a bit intimidating putting myself out there though. This just might motivate me to go for it.
David Santistevan says
Georgia, you should definitely try it. I recommend starting with a free wordpress.com site.
Rob Rash says
I’ve got a lot going on right now… two interviews last week on songwriting, two more this week with Derek Webb and Matthew Smith, 3 music reviews (2 will be posted on TWC), and oh, did I mention I my wife is due on Saturday?!
Yet, I still need to be motivated!
Rob Rash says
And by ‘due’ I mean, having our fourth child… 😉
David Santistevan says
Dude, that is some intensity right there! Very good things though. Can’t wait to see the interviews. Come back and post the links if you can.
Rebekah Campbell says
I will guest post on a blog…www.noroomforhipsters.com Never done one before but they’ve been asking for over a year now and I’ve yet to post. This challenge will get me moving.
David Santistevan says
Awesome, Rebekah! Post the link here when it goes live. Would love to read it!
Peter Bess says
I will write a new poem this week. It’s been way to long since I’ve done any writing.
David Santistevan says
Peter, that’s awesome. Would love to read it.
Heidi Angell says
I will finish the sequel to my book (1st rough draft, but still a major mile stone!) and finish my book review on youtube. I have a million other things I want to get done as well, but one (or two?) things at a time! I will post the review when I get it done!
David Santistevan says
Heidi, that’s amazing! Can’t wait to read it.
Jeff Goins says
I know it’s the end of the week, but I’ve been putting this off all week so it still counts (for me, at least):
I’m going to write an ebook this week.
David Santistevan says
You have until Tuesday to finish that ebook. It’s not like you just moved or anything 🙂
Heidi Angell says
I know it is Friday and my goal has not been achieved yet. I am so close with the video. The book? Hmm…. it could happen. As a matter of fact, in My world the week doesn’t begin anew until Monday. Yeah, I can totally have it done by Monday… I think?
David Santistevan says
Heidi, you have until Tuesday! Keep going 🙂 You can do it!
Heidi Angell says
I have FINALLY finished my book review! Thanks for the inspiration and motivation! Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Rq5DMb7NlE It is a review on Speaker for the Dead, by Orson Scott Card.
Peter Bess says
Here’s a Poem.
“Where Do Songs Go?”
Once a song is sung
Where do the words go?
Floating on the nearest
Breeze, whether soft or hard,
To the tops of the trees,
Where they join the chorus
Of blue birds melodies?
Whether sung high or low,
Once a song has been sung,
Where do the words go?
To the far reaches of the world,
Or to my little girl
Whose face is all smiles
Sitting on my lap
With hands ready to clap?
David Santistevan says
Beautiful, Peter. Stunning.
Heidi Angell says
David,
Sooo,….. barely coming in under the wire, but I also finished my first draft of my book!! Thanks so much for this great challenge! It really lit a fire and I have gotten so much done! I think I need to set goals like this for myself on a regular basis!! Thanks so much!
Also, thanks for the cool book! I am looking forward to reading it!!
David Santistevan says
Glad to help, Heidi. Great job!
