When we think “worship leader” we assume a guitar, microphone, stage, songs, band, skinny jeans, and big hair.
Truth be told: worship leaders don’t learn how to lead from the stage. They learn how to lead by their lifestyles.
It’s all about heart way before the craft.
Corporate worship is important, but leading out of your lifestyle is supreme.
Here are some “out of the ordinary” ways you can lead worship:
2. Serving in the shadows
3. Refusing to gossip
4. Speaking of Christ and Him crucified
5. Avoiding false dealings
6. Sharing your testimony
7. Going
9. Serving the poor
10. Taking care of orphans and widows
11. To act justly
12. To love mercy
13. To walk humbly with God
14. Drawing attention to Jesus
15. Having convictions
16. Loving people
17. Giving
18. Surrendering
19. Trusting God through trials
20. Loving the unlovely
21. Memorize God’s Word
22. Quoting Scripture
23. Singing worship songs at home
24. Not following the crowd
25. Living honestly
26. Seek God daily
27. Being an example
28. Read Scripture with your kids
29. Guarding your heart
30. Staying close to God’s Word
31. Seeking first the Kingdom

Incredible post my friend. Some seeds specifically for me in there. Keep ’em coming.
Did you ever get a chance to lead just on vocals?
David Santistevan says
I don’t ever lead with just vocals. I’ve thought about trying it, but I don’t think it’s necessary. I find it easier to lead with an instrument. How about you?

Nice list… it could go on and on. I really appreciated Steven Furtick’s post on ‘How to Actually Glorify God’ from yesterday. It’s good to get practical.
David Santistevan says
That was a great post. Yea, I suppose we could re-title this Infinity Out of the Ordinary Ways To Lead Worship 🙂
Rob Rash says
Ha ha… do you have the time?!
David Santistevan says
Not quite. Might need a little help. Co-write? 🙂
