Church planting is not for the faint of heart. I’m always inspired by the ones who head into a difficult area with the light of the Gospel and build from the ground up.
Luke Hellebronth is the Worship Pastor at Gass Street Church, where Tim Hughes is the Lead Pastor. They are taking worship to the streets and making disciples in a very post Christian area.
We talk church planting, creativity, excellence (or not?), songwriting, recruiting, and more.
Enjoy!

Sponsor #1: Leadership Pathway
I want to introduce you to one of my favorite organizations: Leadership Pathway. Leadership Pathway helps churches find and then coach the next generation of leaders through a two-year residency program based on soft skill competencies.
They begin by helping churches market and find resident candidates that perhaps they couldn’t find on their own. They then coach your staff on how to have developmental conversations in the context of ministry.
Leadership Pathway vets candidates to find the best fit for your church. For example: They have vetted 600 inquiries in the last 12 months, only passed through 150, only presented 100 and placed 50. Yes, it’s a lot of talking and work. But that’s the level of detail and follow through you’ll find with Leadership Pathway.
So if you’re looking to grow your leadership pipeline and need some coaching on what it could look like, check out Leadership Pathway. Or if you’re looking to bring some high quality Leadership Residents to your team, let LP do the heavy lifting of finding the right fit.
To start, head HERE.
There you’ll find a FREE toolkit for Onboarding and evaluating candidates, HR issues/ pay & work hours, housing & host homes, & job description examples. Again, this is 100% free and worth your time. Go to leadershippathway.org/beyondsunday

Is there a worship team tool you can’t live without? For me, that’s Planning Center. I remember the days of excel spreadsheets and phone calls trying to nail down who was going to be available for Sunday. When we switched to Planning Center nearly 10 years ago, it changed the game for us. All of a sudden, we had an all-in-one solution for scheduling our teams, coordinating schedules, communicating about weekend details, and getting responses from band members. A week doesn’t go by where I don’t use Planning Center.
Maybe many of you use Planning Center to schedule your teams and organize your services. While that’s fantastic, it just scratches the surface of what PCO can do for you. If you’re looking to advance to Planning Center Ninja status, you need to use it as full church management software system. Planning Center provides Check-ins for your kids ministry, an online giving system, managing people and small groups, event registrations, resources, music stand, and a mobile app for your congregation. Crazy right?
Planning Center is offering a 30 day FREE trial so you can see for yourself how amazing this service is. After the 30 days are up, pricing all depends on the size of your church. I can say it’s worth the investment of every penny. It’s an easy, low cost solution that yields incredible results.

Our church is very new to worship. So far God has been good and we are growing spiritually. Our worship team will be introducing a night of worship on 6 December 2019. It will be quite new to our congregation 🙂. Reading through all the reviews really inspired me to go ahead with the night of worship. We are a small group with no band but will resource for the night. I will definitely introduce a bit of each of your ideas I read about and throw in some of ours.
Please pray for us. Will let you know how it went. I’m thankful for coming across this website. God bless.
