When was the last time you worshiped because you wanted to?

Not because you were told you should. Not because it’s your job. Not because you have a responsibility. You just wanted to be with God – receiving His love, hearing His voice, being with Him.

Not many worship leaders do this. We do it because we have to and can easily lose our first love. That’s why I love what God is doing at Worship Mob, a weekly gathering of worship leaders and worshipers who are simply hungry for God.

Last night was a beautiful moment of worship – the kind every worship leader longs for.

No, it wasn’t that the sound was pristine, in ear mixes where perfect, or the band was tight. It wasn’t even that the songs were particularly great. It didn’t even involve a massive crowd.

It all started with screaming children.

Why Every Musician Needs To Think Like A Producer

Ever get frustrated by another musician you work with? If you haven’t, you’re lying.

Think about it: musicians of different generations, unique styles, different preferences, varying degrees of skill, different goals – all placed on the same stage. There’s nothing like a worship team!

This weekend I was having a conversation with one of the drummers on my team, a great friend. He’s a good drummer – passionate, great feel, good sense of time, loves Jesus, and has the kind of attitude any worship leader would envy.

But even with all these positives in place, something was amiss. Something sounded off.

So began a great conversation that changed everything.
