I don’t know about you, but I want my ministry to extend far beyond my life. I want to make a mark on this world with hundreds of people by my side, rather than be standing alone with my “talents”.
There’s only so much that you and I can do alone. But when we adopt a lifestyle of discipleship, the difference can be exponential.
Ever see just one solitary ant building their own castle? Me neither. There are scores of them, hustling to get it done. Strength in numbers.
Unless you’re a raging egomaniac, I imagine you want this too. You want to be a worship leader of influence. That’s what this post is all about. Ask yourself these 15 questions to see how you’re doing as a discipling worship leader:
1. Am I living a life worth reproducing in others?
2. Am I OK with others getting the attention?
3. Who am I pouring into?
4. If I was gone for two months, who would be ready to take my place?
5. Am I reproducing the DNA of my lead pastor’s vision?
6. Are my musicians improving in both heart and skill?
7. Do I constantly speak uplifting, encouraging words to my team?
8. Who am I believing in that others overlook?
9. Is it OK if I disciple someone better than me?
10. Where do I derive my greatest joy – the praise of man or the people I raise up?
11. Am I taking care of myself to be good for others?
12. Do I have a discipleship plan?
13. Does my heart long for Christ more than working for Christ?
14. Who am I praying for everyday?
15. What do I want to be known for at the end of my life?
We need to be raising up the next generation. We need to spread our influence far beyond what we can do ourselves. What are you going to do about it?
Question: What are some other discipleship questions I missed? What are you doing to raise people up around you? You can leave a comment by clicking here.

Number 13 has got to be one of the hardest things to do!…it reminds me of Martha in the bible…when Jesus is teaching in her house, she is making sure he is comfortable service him and others, getting the coffee ready….and Jesus says, Martha STOP! come sit down! and just be with me.

These are definitely some questions that I have needed to ask myself. I am going to make a poster of this for my office. Thanks David.

Great idea Andrew! If you design something, let me know because I might want one too 🙂
